1930s Glamour

These shots are from a photo shoot I did on Monday 1st August. This stunning vintage 1930s gown is available to buy at my online boutique www.bowjanglesvintage.com In some shots I paired the dress with gorgeous 1930s/40s fox tails and in others I teamed it with a glamorous 1930s fur cape with amazing huge round shoulder pads. It is believed to be in the 1930s that the very first shoulder pads were used.
The amazing hair and make-up in the shots was created by my good friend and very talented hair and make-up artist Joanna Madey. The photographer was Paul Saunders and our beautiful model was Sarah-louise Polley.
Joanna's fiance Gordon let us use his amazing new studios, which allowed us to get some lovely shots. It all took part at Dundas House on Dundas Street, across from Queen Street Station, Glasgow - where his business Activ Tailored Fitness is based.

On the day we created lots of different looks which I will be sharing with you in the coming weeks...

Gin in Teacups Purchases

Here are my (mostly blouse type) purchases from Gin in Teacups on Saturday. I'm sure some will appear again in future posts, although more than likely on myself or a model rather than on my hall floor :) The blouse I'm wearing in the photos is a lovely oversized polka dot number from Sister Vintage. They were the stall next to me at the fair and I'm pretty sure I was their best customer. They had such lovely things and all so cheap. I bagged this blouse for a fiver! The other purchases were from Between the Devil and the Deep Blue Sea, who actually ran the event, Cotton Fields and The Pokey Hat.

Gin in Teacups 06/08/11

As my very first post I would just like to introduce myself - so ...this is me.

This was the outfit I wore to Gin in Teacups at Glasgow's Chambre69. A lovely little vintage fair in a cool new venue. I had my Bowjangles Vintage stall with loads of ladieswear, menswear & accessories for sale. There were lots of lovely vintage goodies on offer throughout the fair. I bought six...(yes six!) blouses. (I may have an obsession forming!) As well as a cool stripey blazer with massive shoulder pads + some crazy stripey denim shorts. All this for under 60 quid....dont you just love vintage fairs!? Although I really should try selling more and shopping less. I say this every time...

Photos of my purchases coming soon.....
